description organisation | Founded in 1419, the University of Rostock is the oldest university in Northern Europe and the University has one of the richest traditions of German universities. Since 2006, the URCE is part of the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment. Before that, URCE was known as the Institute for Hydraulic and Coastal Engineering (IWR) of the University of Rostock and then, one of 10 Institutes of the Department of Civil Engineering. URCE is responsible for the scientific education in all fields of Hydraulic Engineering, including Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology and Coastal Engineering of all Civil Engineering students of the University of Rostock and for the scientific education in the field of Coastal Engineering of the Bachelor and Master Students of Land Management and Environment Protection. | |||
