The Institute of Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering, Department of Hydraulic Engineering, at the Darmstadt University of Technology investigates basic and applied tasks in hydraulic and water resources engineering with the main scientific expertise in hydraulics, sediment transport, coastal engineering, river morphology and ecology, hydro power, flood management, (re-) construction of dikes and capillary barriers for landfill sites. Investigations are achieved both with experimental work in the hydraulic laboratory and in the field and with numerical simulations.
